Nigerian Navy Inaugurates 5000 KVA Transformer in Imo

The Nigerian Navy inaugurated a 5000 KVA transformer project in Umuokoro, Lowa Uboma, Ihitte Uboma LGA, Imo State, marking a significant step in community development. The event was officiated by Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abba, who emphasized the importance of civil-military cooperation in achieving strategic military objectives.

Rear Admiral Michael Igw, Director of Weapons and Electrical Engineering at Naval Headquarters, noted that the transformer project directly addresses the community's long-standing electricity issues, having been without power for three and a half years due to a faulty transformer. The newly installed transformer, completed two months ago, has successfully restored power to the rural population.

Additionally, the project included the construction of a fully furnished town hall with modern restroom facilities. Governor Hope Uzodimma commended the Nigerian Navy's leadership and its commitment to community development, while local leaders expressed gratitude for the initiative, which aligns with the federal government's Renewed Hope Agenda.
