Nigerian Navy to Utilize Drones in Maritime Crime Fight, Says New Chief

The Nigerian Navy, under new Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Abbas, is set to leverage drones in the fight against maritime crime. Abbas emphasized the importance of incorporating advanced technology, particularly drones, to enhance surveillance capabilities and improve operational efficiency.

During a Senate screening, Senator Adam Oshiomhole raised concerns about the establishment of a separate coast guard agency, to which Abbas clarified that the Nigerian Navy is already equipped to handle such functions without duplicating efforts.
