Amaechi and Sowore Clash at NBA Conference in Port Harcourt

At the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference in Port Harcourt, a public confrontation erupted between Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, and Omoyele Sowore, a journalist and activist. The exchange began when Sowore referenced Amaechi's earlier comments about politicians who had failed in public office.

Sowore stated, "I love that Amaechi said that apart from Sowore and Adebayo, the rest of them have been in government and have failed. They have no business coming out.

You should be apologising to Nigerians." Amaechi responded by accusing Sowore of misrepresenting his words, asserting, "Stop lying. Stop lying, Sowore.

I said judge us by our achievements." Sowore countered by criticizing Amaechi's railway project, claiming it had not fulfilled its promises. Amaechi defended his record, citing the completed Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna railways.
