Sowore Demands Apology from Amaechi After NBA Conference

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), stated he demanded an apology from former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi following a heated exchange during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt on Monday. Sowore revealed that the disagreement arose from differing views on their contributions to Nigeria's political development.

After the conference, Sowore contacted Amaechi, who invited him to his residence for food and drinks. Sowore humorously declined, saying, "I don’t want you to poison me." He argued that his activism for democracy enabled politicians like Amaechi to attain significant positions, including Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, governor, and Minister of Transportation.

Sowore asserted that had Nigeria remained under military rule, Amaechi would not have held these offices. He maintained that his experience in activism provides him with a unique perspective on leadership, which goes beyond traditional political roles.
