Luka Doncic Suspended for One Game Without Pay

Luka Doncic, the star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been suspended for one game without pay following the receipt of his 16th technical foul this season. This foul occurred during a game against the Brooklyn Nets, where Doncic was involved in an altercation with Brooklyn forward Ziaire Williams with 5:12 remaining in the third quarter.

The Lakers won the game 116-99. The incident was reviewed, revealing that Doncic pushed Williams, who retaliated by swiping Doncic's face.

According to NBA rules, a player is automatically suspended after the 16th technical foul, which will cost Doncic approximately $264,000 based on his annual salary. The Lakers had previously successfully appealed a technical foul called against Doncic in a match against the Orlando Magic on March 21, which was rescinded.

Doncic is currently the league's leading scorer, averaging 33.7 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game, and has been selected to the NBA First Team six times.
