NBA President Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Promotes Unity

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN), the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has committed to uniting the Bar amid divisions stemming from the recent NBA presidential election. In a brief interview, she addressed concerns about regional polarization, particularly within the Egbe Amofin faction in the South-West.

Badejo-Okusanya stated her intention to engage with elders in the Western Region to foster unity, asserting, “I am President of the entire Bar.” Her administration will focus on a "Members First" theme, aiming to enhance lawyers' earnings, living conditions, and professional practices. She clarified her recent comments regarding police accountability and body cameras, stating they were made prior to discussions with Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu and were not a direct response to him.

She acknowledged the potential for misuse of the right to record police officers but emphasized that accountability benefits both the public and police.
