NBA President Badejo-Okusanya Unveils New Agenda

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya was inaugurated as the 33rd president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In her inaugural address, she outlined her administration's agenda, emphasizing the need for the NBA to build a “bolder Bar.” She committed to speaking truth to power, defending judicial independence, and demanding accountability from government institutions.

Badejo-Okusanya stated that the NBA would not be an appendage of any government or political party, asserting that their loyalty lies with the Constitution and the rule of law. She highlighted the importance of supporting the judiciary while demanding integrity and efficiency within the justice system.

Additionally, she announced plans for a technology-driven overhaul of NBA services, including a service portal for members and highly subsidized electronic law reports. The NBA affinity card is also set to return in an upgraded form, enhancing payment functionalities.
