NBBF Invites 36 Players for 2026 FIBA U18 AfroBasket

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has invited 36 players, comprising 15 boys and 21 girls, to the national preparatory camp for the 2026 FIBA U18 AfroBasket Championships. The camp will commence on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Athletes High Performance Centre, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The Junior D’Tigers will be coached by Michael Iikima, while Peter Akindele will lead the Junior D’Tigress. The championships will take place from August 4 to 15, 2026, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

All players and officials must report with international passports, yellow cards, and birth certificates, with no exceptions. The Junior D’Tigers recently won the FIBA Africa Zone 3 Qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, achieving four wins without defeat.

The Junior D’Tigress qualified automatically for the tournament. XEJet has been announced as the Official Travel Partner, providing charter flights for both teams to and from Abidjan.
