NCF and Unilorin Join Forces for Environmental Sustainability

The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) and the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) have partnered to enhance environmental sustainability through a signed memorandum of understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to establish a 5-hectare conservation park within the university campus and develop programs that promote youth engagement in environmental conservation.

The initiative will focus on registered Unilorin students and NCF members undertaking joint research projects, including carbon assessments of the university's forest. During the signing ceremony, Professor Wahab Egbewole, the Vice Chancellor of Unilorin, emphasized the importance of this partnership, describing it as a testament to the university's commitment to promoting environmental sustainability.

Dr. Joseph Onoja, the Director General of NCF, highlighted the need for advocacy in environmental sustainability and expressed optimism about the partnership's potential to create a positive impact on the campus and beyond. The collaboration is expected to provide training and practical learning opportunities for students in forest resource management.
