University of Ilorin Partners with NCF for Sustainability

The University of Ilorin has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) to collaborate on environmental sustainability initiatives. The MoU was signed on Monday at the University of Ilorin, with the aim of establishing a 5-hectare conservation park within the university campus.

This partnership will also develop programs to promote youth engagement in environmental conservation. Registered students from the University of Ilorin will work alongside NCF members on joint research projects, including carbon assessments of the university's forest.

Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewol, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, emphasized the partnership's commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and conservation. Dr.

Joseph Onoja, the Director General of NCF, noted that the collaboration would enhance efforts in environmental conservation and sustainability development in Nigeria. The NCF has previously worked with tertiary institutions to establish curricula and activities that promote nature conservation and raise environmental awareness among students.
