NCS Approves Harmonization of NABTE and ITF Mandates

The National Council on Skill, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, convened in Abuja to approve the harmonization of the mandates of the Nigeria Board for Technical Education (NABTE) and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). This initiative aims to support President Bola Tinubu's industrialization agenda by enhancing skill development across various sectors.

During the ninth meeting, Vice President Shettima emphasized the need to align national training infrastructure with the country's industrial goals. The council aims to create job opportunities for young Nigerians and streamline the national skill qualification framework.

Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa highlighted the importance of special skill programs introduced under Tinubu's administration, particularly in vocational training.

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi praised the national skill program as a significant advancement for the nation, outlining its current implementations in Jigawa State. The council also discussed partnerships with Aliko Dangote's skill acquisition center in Kano.
