NDC Aspirant Ikoku Rejects Idemili North/South Primary Results

Chiogo Constanc Ikoku, an aspirant for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has publicly rejected the results of the Idemili North/South primary election conducted on May 29. In a press release made available to journalists, Ikoku described the election as a "brazen criminal act" that denied members their right to choose.

She stated that no legitimate election took place, as the atmosphere was marred by confusion and violence, including thuggery and gunfire, which forced people to flee. Ikoku emphasized that the process was disrupted and warned that the announcement of a winner was contrary to justice and equity.

She called for an investigation into the role of the party and the officials responsible for managing the election, citing their negligence. Despite the setback, Ikoku reaffirmed her commitment to public service and urged everyone to remain calm.
