Aspirants Protest NDC Primary Results in Lagos State

Three aspirants, Godwin Ezeok, Ifeanyi Okparaugo, and Ola Ogunlana, protested the results of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary elections for the Ojo Federal Constituency in Lagos State. Ezeok led the protest, claiming that the party failed to conduct valid primary elections, which he described as unprecedented, unlawful, unconstitutional, undemocratic, and arbitrary.

He accused party officials, including the chairman and secretary, of disregarding the party's constitutional guidelines and announcing a winner without conducting elections. Okparaugo supported these claims, stating that there were no electoral officials present at the scheduled venues, and he witnessed no voters queuing.

Ogunlana echoed similar sentiments, asserting that no primary elections were held and provided visual evidence to support his claims. The aspirants urged the party to nullify the purported results and withdraw recognition of the declared winner, calling for fresh primaries to be conducted by an independent panel.

In response, the party's spokesperson, Osa, stated that a reconciliation committee would address the disputes.
