NDC Denies Allegations of Ticket Sales and Illegal Payments

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted claims of illegal payments and favoritism in its candidate selection process for the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the party clarified that no party tickets were sold to aspirants.

The NDC explained that its financing is derived from donations, levies, and contributions from members and stakeholders, with all funds deposited into designated party accounts. The party described the allegations as “deliberate misinformation” from disgruntled individuals.

As a new political entity without existing public office holders, the NDC highlighted the necessity of mobilizing resources for its operations. It emphasized that all financial contributions were properly documented and managed according to its constitution and global best practices.

The NDC assured that it would provide a full financial account in compliance with the Electoral Act and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, asserting that its funding does not involve stolen public funds.
