NDC to Introduce E-Voting for Upcoming Primaries

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to implement electronic voting for its primaries in the coming months, as announced by party leader Seriak Dickson during a dinner event in Abuja. Dickson described this initiative as part of efforts to deepen internal democracy within the party and to serve as a model for future electoral reforms in Nigeria.

The NDC has developed a digital voting platform that will allow registered members to vote using their mobile phones. Dickson emphasized the importance of testing the platform thoroughly to avoid any glitches during the voting process.

He assured that every registered voter will be able to participate in the primaries, which are scheduled to occur within the next three months. Additionally, Dickson stated that the NDC is committed to building a long-term political institution that focuses on leadership development and inclusivity, rather than being a temporary political vehicle.

The party also plans to establish leadership structures at both ward and national levels, alongside mentorship programs aimed at educating youth and women.
