NDC Zoning 2027 Presidential Ticket to South

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) officially announced during its national convention in Abuja that the party's presidential ticket for the 2027 elections will be zoned to the southern region, while the 2031 ticket will be allocated to the northern region. This decision is based on principles of power-sharing and rotation between the northern and southern regions of Nigeria.

The NDC stated that this move is intended to heal sectional tensions and ensure the party remains a unifying force in Nigeria. Additionally, a special adviser from the NDC rejected claims made by Dino Melaye regarding his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and criticized Peter Obi, suggesting that Obi is afraid to contest in the primary elections and prefers to be handed the ticket.
