NDDC Launches Emergency Electricity Upgrade Project

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has commenced an emergency upgrade of the electricity supply at its headquarters complex. This project, formally handed over to Electrix Integr Power Company during a ceremony, aims to connect the NDDC headquarters to a reliable power source, thereby reducing high diesel consumption and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.

The project involves constructing a 33kV double circuit line, tapping from the Hyperc roundabout, installing a 1.5MVA 33/0.415 distribution substation, and upgrading existing transformers and switchgear. NDDC's Deputy Director of Administration and Human Resources, Erefa Alalibo, assured that the project will be closely monitored to meet required standards.

Dr. Toni Omah, Director II of Corporate Affairs, emphasized the importance of proper needs assessment and the necessity for beneficiaries to take full ownership of the project to ensure sustainability.
