NDDC Digitizes Contracts to Combat Fraud and Corruption

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), led by Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has introduced a digitized system for contract letters to combat fraud and financial crimes associated with fake documents.

This initiative was announced during a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. Ogbuku explained that the digitization aims to ensure that staff fully understand the procurement process, which is crucial for effective project delivery.

NDDC's Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson Wakama, noted that the digitized contract award letters would help prevent the circulation of fake documents. Ogbuku urged directors to comply with procurement regulations and align requests with approved procurement plans.

He emphasized the need for transparency and integrity in managing public funds, while Chief Boma Iyayi highlighted the importance of building capacity among government officials involved in public fund management. Dr.
