Peter Obi's Spokesman Challenges Keyamo on Airport Incident

Zekeri Idri, spokesperson for Peter Obi, responded to claims made by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, regarding CCTV footage from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Keyamo had released footage suggesting that Obi violated airport parking regulations.

Idri clarified that Obi does not have police or civil defense personnel assigned to him, despite being entitled to VVIP protection as a leading opposition figure in Nigeria. He emphasized that Keyamo incorrectly assumed Obi enjoyed official security.

Idri also pointed out that the incident involving Obi's vehicle was misrepresented, noting that similar incidents involving other prominent Nigerians did not receive the same scrutiny. He highlighted that vehicles associated with Obi were clamped for approximately five minutes, which is within acceptable limits at major international airports.

Idri questioned why similar enforcement was not applied to other vehicles and criticized the public outrage instigated by Keyamo's post.
