NDDC Reaffirms Support for Nigerian Navy and Security Agencies in Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Nigerian Navy and security agencies in the Niger Delta region to ensure peace, protect critical assets, and expedite development. Dr.

Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of NDDC, assured this during a visit by Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, who leads the Central Naval Command. Ogbuku emphasized the interdependence of security and development, highlighting the need for a secure environment for sustainable progress.

The NDDC has established strong partnerships with security agencies in the region to address insecurities that hinder development. The Nigerian Navy recently launched Operation Sentinel to support crude oil exploration and product transportation, aiming to increase crude oil production to 2.5 million barrels per day by 2027.

The collaboration between NDDC and the Navy is crucial for the region's development, with the NDDC being a major beneficiary. The partnership seeks to enhance security apparatus, meet production targets, and ensure lasting peace and increased oil production in the Niger Delta.
