NDLEA Arrests 17 in Kano Drug Bust, Seizes Illicit Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted a strategic operation across various locations in Kano, including the race course, Dan Agundi, and the Kano Zoological Garden along Zaria Road. This operation led to the arrest of 17 suspects allegedly involved in drug-related activities.

The items recovered during the raid included assorted illicit substances such as methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, cannabis sativa, and five vials of diazepam rubber solution. The operation was coordinated by D.Y.

Lawal and is part of the agency's sustained efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb the distribution and abuse of narcotics within the state. A statement issued by the agency's public relations officer, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, described this operation as part of a nationwide drive to promote a drug-free society.

The NDLEA has called on members of the public to remain vigilant and support the agency with credible information to help rid society of the menace of illicit drugs, especially during the Ramadan period.
