NDLEA Arrests 19 in Kano, Seizes Illicit Drugs During Ramadan

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted an operation in Kano, resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals and the seizure of illicit drugs. This operation, named "Operation Ramadan Mubarak," was led by the Kano Strategic Command on February 26, with the objective of curbing drug trafficking and abuse during the holy month of Ramadan.

The operation followed credible intelligence regarding drug activities in the community, leading to the dismantling of several drug distribution hubs. Items recovered during the operation included cannabis sativa, diazepam, and pregabalin tablets.

Kano Strategic Command's CN Dy Lawal emphasized the importance of public safety and the need for community cooperation in providing accurate information to combat drug-related issues. NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Moham Buba Marwa mandated a sustained effort to combat drug trafficking nationwide, reaffirming the agency's commitment to dismantling drug supply chains and ensuring public health and safety.
