NDLEA Arrests 39 Drug Peddlers in Rivers State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 39 suspected drug peddlers in Rivers State, comprising 36 males and 3 females. The arrests, which took place between December 2025 and March 2026, resulted in the seizure of 14.83 kilograms of different types of drugs.

NDLEA Rivers State Command's Batur Dawa disclosed these details during a courtesy call at the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

Over the last month, the agency has secured 12 convictions and is currently investigating 16 new cases. Dawa emphasized the agency's commitment to reducing drug demand and controlling supply, urging parents and guardians to monitor their children closely.

He also called on hotel owners to remain vigilant against drug-related activities. The Rivers State government, represented by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, commended the NDLEA for its efforts and reiterated the importance of law adherence for sustainable development.
