NDLEA Busts Major Cocaine Trafficking Operation in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced a significant breakthrough in drug trafficking operations on March 19, 2026, when they arrested 36-year-old Akputa Dickson Ejik in Lagos. During a raid, agents discovered 237 wraps of cocaine ingeniously concealed inside dry fish, weighing 5.80 kilograms, intended for delivery to Delhi, India.

Following this operation, on March 25, the NDLEA intercepted two consignments bound for the United Kingdom, which included 1.9 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle's filter and 40 ampoules of morphine sulfate along with nine ampoules of fentanyl. The agency also apprehended Omolad Abigail Jolayemi, known as Iya Ghana, and her associate Sarah Zainab Agbabiaka, recovering 135 blocks of cannabis weighing 76.30 kilograms.

The NDLEA's operations extended to Ekiti State, where 80-year-old Ok Samuel was arrested with 2.2 kilograms of skunk and small quantities of methamphetamine. Additional seizures included cannabis and codeine syrup across various states.
