NDLEA Arrests Cocaine Cartel Kingpin at Lagos Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Afolabi Kazeem Michael, also known as “KC Luxury,” at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on the night of August 13, 2026. He was apprehended while attempting to board a business-class flight to Paris after the seizure of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine valued at approximately N39 billion.

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.) stated that Michael was not a voluntary surrender but was arrested based on credible intelligence. At the time of his arrest, he possessed €7,750, £2,800, and N100,000 in cash, along with expensive jewelry linked to his illicit activities.

A search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, uncovered exotic vehicles. The investigation was initiated after the interception of the cocaine shipment, leading to the arrest of Lawal Kehinde, an employee of the logistics company involved.

The cartel operated internationally, with connections from South America to Europe and Asia, utilizing false identities and financial facilitators.
