NDLEA Seizes 75,000 Pregabalin Capsules in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully intercepted a significant quantity of illicit drugs in Kano, comprising 75,000 pregabalin capsules and 556 bottles of codeine cough syrup. This operation took place in the Badawa area of Kano and was announced by the command's public relations officer, Mr. Dahiru Yahaya Lawal, on Monday.

The seizure is part of the agency's efforts to disrupt the supply of these drugs, which have seen increased abuse in Nigeria, particularly as the Sallah celebration approaches. The NDLEA's actions were based on credible intelligence indicating that these drugs were intended for distribution during the festivities.

The operation is viewed as a serious blow to drug cartels operating in the state, with the agency emphasizing its commitment to achieving a drug-free society under the leadership of its chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa. Lawal urged the public to continue cooperating with the agency and warned against involvement in drug trafficking activities.
