NDLEA Discovers Cocaine in Wooden Mortar, Backpack

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered attempts by drug traffickers to export cocaine concealed within a traditional wooden mortar and a specially modified backpack. The agency's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this information in a statement shared on X on Sunday.

One consignment contained cocaine hidden inside a wooden mortar, a tool typically used for pounding yam and grains, which was destined for China. Another shipment, intended for Italy, was found with cocaine concealed in the false bottom of a backpack, hidden among lace materials.

Babafemi cautioned the public to be vigilant with parcels they are asked to deliver, emphasizing that possession is key to liability.
