NDLEA Seizes Cocaine, Arrests Four Drug Suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported the interception of cocaine concealed in a local mortar and a backpack intended for shipment to China and Italy, respectively. The agency's spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, announced that 250 grammes of cocaine were found in the mortar, while 500 grammes were hidden in the backpack.

Four suspects were arrested during multiple operations across Nigeria. Notably, Ugo Gift Okonkwo, a 38-year-old suspected drug dealer, was apprehended in Rivers State with various drugs, including cannabis and methamphetamine, on Sunday, July 26.

In Anambra State, Chinedu Nwanze, 40, was arrested on July 27 with 26,000 bottles of codeine syrup. Additionally, Joseph Nwaeke, 64, was detained in Nasarawa State on July 28 with 68 kilogrammes of skunk and methamphetamine.

Sani Umar, 27, was intercepted in Zamfara State on July 27 with 7,400 pills of tramadol. The NDLEA continues its War Against Drug Abuse campaign through community sensitization programs.
