Ndume Confirms Civilian and Soldier Deaths in Borno Attack

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South in the National Assembly, confirmed the killing of an unspecified number of civilians, soldiers, and terrorists during an attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP in Ngosh, Borno State. In an interview with Vanguard, Ndume expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the quick recovery of the injured.

He reported that over 100 people are missing and have been abducted during the attack. The military faced significant losses, including the destruction of major equipment and residential properties worth millions of naira.

Ndume criticized the Nigerian security agencies for their inadequate response to the ambush, highlighting that frontline terrorists are equipped with advanced weaponry, including AK-47 rifles and rocket-propelled grenades. He called for serious military operations in the Sambisa Forest and Mandara Mountain areas to stem the tide of terrorism affecting southern Borno.
