Ndume Condemns Boko Haram Attacks in Borno Communities

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, expressed his condemnation of the recent attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP on two communities in Borno State. The assaults occurred last Saturday, targeting Ashigashiya village in Gwoza Local Government Area and Kopul village in Askira Uba Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that the attacks resulted in the deaths of disabled individuals, with houses set ablaze and foodstuff and livestock looted in Ashigashiya. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in Kopul village, although houses and shops were destroyed, leading to the displacement of residents who fled to the bush for safety.

In an interview with a correspondent in Maiduguri on Sunday, Ndume commiserated with the victims and reiterated his call for the federal government to fully equip military and police security agencies with sophisticated weapons to end the atrocities committed by Boko Haram and ISWAP. He emphasized the urgent need for training and equipping military forces to effectively combat these terrorist threats.
