NEDC Provides Relief to Borno Bomb Blast Victims

On Tuesday, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) donated relief materials to assist victims of recent bomb blasts in Borno State, specifically targeting survivors from Konduga, Kukawa, and Gwoza local government areas. The donation included food items such as 2,000 bags of rice, 2,000 cartons of spaghetti, 400 gallons of vegetable oil, and 100 bags of sugar, alongside non-food items like mats, clothing, and blankets.

The state coordinator, Mohan Umar, emphasized the intention to support victims during the handover ceremony in Maiduguri. The distribution will be managed by the state government, represented by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Abdullahi Isa.

Additionally, families of deceased victims will receive N50,000, while those injured will receive N30,000 for treatment. The donation also includes building materials such as zinc, ceiling sheets, timber, and nails, totaling 1,000 bundles of zinc and 5,000 ceiling sheets.
