Atiku Abubakar Defends Education Access Against Dada

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), responded to remarks made by Olusegun Dada, the Special Assistant on Social Media to President Bola Tinubu. Dada accused Atiku of opposing NELFUND, claiming he does not believe that children from poor backgrounds should have access to education.

In a statement relayed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku refuted this claim, stating that he does not oppose education for poor children but is against the idea of education becoming a debt trap. He criticized the government's decision to raise fees, making it difficult for low-income families to afford education, and emphasized the need for affordable education, scholarships, and grants.

Atiku's position is that every child should be able to graduate without being burdened by debt, highlighting the plight of families struggling to finance their children's education.
