NEMA boss leads rescue team to Abuja–Kaduna train derailment site

NEMA Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, led a rescue team to the site of a train derailment near Idda in Abuja-Kaduna on August 26th.

The incident resulted in seven fatalities and injuries to several passengers. NEMA's Head of Press Unit, Mr.

Manzo Ezekiel, stated that injured passengers received immediate first aid on the scene before being taken to hospitals for further treatment. The rescue operation was carried out with the coordination of various agencies including the Nigerian military, police, immigration, and civil defense.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Ministry of Transportation. Mr.

Ezekiel assured that updates on the situation will be provided as they become available.
