NEMA Provides Relief to Oyo Rainstorm Victims

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) distributed relief materials to victims of a recent rainstorm affecting the Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa constituencies in Oyo State. The agency disclosed this via its X account on Tuesday, noting that the distribution was carried out from its Ibadan operational office.

The exercise took place at the constituency office, attended by Najimdeen Oyedeji from the Iseyin local government area, along with dignitaries and government officials, including representatives from the legislature. Chief Search and Rescue Officer Ayo Abolarin expressed the agency's sympathy for the affected communities and emphasized the need for proactive disaster risk reduction measures to mitigate future occurrences.

Akeem Alal, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for NEMA's timely humanitarian support, highlighting the orderly manner in which the relief items were distributed. The agency successfully conducted the exercise, bringing relief to those impacted across the constituency.
