NEMA Receives 147 Nigerian Returnees from Niger Republic

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) successfully received 147 Nigerian returnees from Niger Republic at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on March 5, 2026, at 12:19 PM local time. The returnees arrived aboard a flight operated by Sky Mali Airlines.

This operation was part of NEMA's ongoing efforts to support Nigerians returning from abroad. The agency's Kano operations office reported that the reception exercise was conducted in collaboration with several stakeholders, including the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

A profiling exercise was conducted on March 6, 2026, to assess the returnees, who comprised 136 male adults, five female adults, three male children, and three female children. NEMA noted that the operation was successfully executed due to the cooperation among participating agencies, ensuring a coordinated and hitch-free exercise.
