NEMSA and REAN Collaborate to Enhance Renewable Energy Standards

The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) have formed a strategic partnership to improve compliance and safety standards in the country's rapidly expanding renewable energy market. This initiative was formalized during a visit by REAN's president, Ayo Ademilola, to NEMSA's headquarters in Abuja, where he met with NEMSA's Managing Director and Chief Electrical Inspector, Olusegun Adesayo, and other management team members.

The partnership aims to develop and implement technical standards for renewable energy projects, ensuring they align with global safety and quality benchmarks. It will also focus on creating guidelines and manuals for the installation and maintenance of renewable energy systems, which will undergo periodic reviews to adapt to technological advancements.

Additionally, the collaboration will prioritize capacity-building training programs for technicians to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to established technical standards, thereby addressing the challenges posed by substandard installations.
