Edo Police to Arraign Three in Neolife Job Scam

The Zone 5 Command of the Nigerian Police in Benin, Edo State, is preparing to arraign three suspects connected to a scam that deceived job seekers with fake employment offers from Neolife, a health company based in the United States. The investigation, which involved collaboration between the company and the police, uncovered a syndicate that invited candidates to attend fake job interviews.

During these interviews, job seekers were misled into believing they would work for Neolife, while in reality, they were coerced into marketing health products. One victim from Warri, Delta State, experienced a troubling incident when she insisted on meeting the person who had invited her for the interview, leading to an argument and her being assaulted.

Mr. Olusanmi Asalu, the Vice President of Field Development for Neolife West Africa, emphasized that the company does not offer employment to individuals but operates through independent distributors.

The police have confirmed that investigations will extend to other parts of the country to apprehend those involved in the fraudulent recruitment scheme.
