Seplat Energy Empowers 110 Youths in Edo with Skills

Seplat Energy PLC, represented by Chief Operating Officer Samson Ezugwori, announced the graduation of 110 youths from its Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) in Benin, Edo State. This initiative, part of a strategic investment in community development, aims to equip young Nigerians with practical renewable energy skills.

The program included training in solar home systems, mini-grid prototypes, and biogas digesters, addressing real needs in homes, schools, and health centers. Additionally, Seplat Energy upgraded a classroom block and a visually impaired unit at Ihogb College in Benin City, enhancing educational access for underserved learners.

The initiative reflects Seplat's commitment to inclusiveness and community development, with further support for graduates through grants to launch businesses. Chioma Af, Director of External Affairs and Social Performance at Seplat Energy, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between learning and enterprise.

The program is part of a broader educational ecosystem that includes scholarships and teacher empowerment initiatives.
