Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, which was detected early during routine medical monitoring. In a statement shared on his official X account, Netanyahu explained the delay in the announcement was due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and a desire to prevent the exploitation of the information for propaganda purposes.

The diagnosis emerged during a routine check-up, where doctors discovered a small abnormality measuring less than one centimeter, later confirmed to be an early-stage malignant tumor with no signs of spread. Netanyahu reassured citizens about his health, stating he is in excellent physical condition aside from this minor issue.

He opted for immediate intervention to mitigate potential risks, highlighting the importance of early detection through routine screening for prostate conditions, particularly among older men. This is not the first time Netanyahu has undergone medical procedures; he previously had hernia surgery in March 2024.
