New Sokoto CP Shaffa Vows to Combat Crime Effectively

Mr. Hayyatu Hasan Shaffa has officially taken over as the new Commissioner of Police for Sokoto State, expressing his commitment to eradicating criminal activities within the state.

In his address at the police headquarters, he acknowledged the significant security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, which have led to loss of lives and displacement of communities, creating widespread fear. He expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for entrusting him with this leadership role, which he described as historically significant.

Shaffa outlined a three-pronged strategy to tackle crime, which includes intelligence-led, technology-driven policing, strengthening community engagement, and enhancing collaboration with sister security agencies. He emphasized the importance of community partnerships and pledged to work closely with residents and police community relations committees to build trust and improve information sharing.

Additionally, he aims to deepen synergy with the Nigerian Army and other security services to ensure a unified response to security threats.
