Sokoto State Supports New Police Chief to Combat Insecurity

The Sokoto State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling insecurity by pledging full support for the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Shaffa. This initiative is part of a renewed effort to combat banditry, kidnapping, and related crimes.

Col. Ahm Usman, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, stated that the appointment of Shaffa signals a strategic push to consolidate security gains and intensify ongoing operations across the state.

The government is committed to working closely with the new police chief to enhance operational efficiency and protect lives and property. Usman highlighted the importance of intelligence-driven operations and collaboration with local communities to sustain pressure on criminal networks.

The government acknowledged recent improvements in security but noted that more work is needed to stabilize affected areas. Additionally, the government expressed gratitude to outgoing Commissioner of Police, Ahm Musa, for his impactful tenure and leadership, which contributed significantly to security gains in Sokoto State.
