Newcastle Signs Monaco's Aladji Bamba for £34 Million

Newcastle United has finalized a deal worth up to £34 million for 20-year-old midfielder Aladji Bamba from AS Monaco. Bamba, who made his senior debut in August 2025, is scheduled to arrive in Tyneside on Thursday for a medical examination and to sign a long-term contract with the club.

The acquisition follows Newcastle's recent sale of Sandro Tonali and their pursuit of a second young midfielder after signing 18-year-old Sean Steur from Ajax. Another target, Johan Manzambi from Freiburg, opted to join a different club last week.

Bamba's performance in Ligue 1 last season was notable; he ranked among the top five midfielders for duels won (9.1 per game), tackles (3.6), successful take-ons (1.6), and aerial duels won (1.9) among those who played at least 500 minutes.
