NFF Reschedules 2026 Elective Congress to 27 September

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a new date for its 2026 Elective Congress, moving it from Saturday, 26 September to Sunday, 27 September 2026. This decision was made during an extraordinary general assembly held virtually on Wednesday, where NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON explained that the change was necessary due to a scheduling conflict with the Super Eagles’ opening qualifying match for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar’s Barea, set for Friday, 25 September 2026.

The NFF Executive Committee convened the assembly to address this issue, recognizing that many candidates would be unable to attend the congress in Lafia, Nasarawa State, the morning after the match. A motion to adopt the new date was proposed and seconded, finalizing the rescheduling.
