NFF Elective Congress Rescheduled to September 27, 2026

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that its Elective Congress, originally set for September 26, 2026, in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has been postponed by one day to September 27, 2026. This change was confirmed during an extraordinary general assembly held virtually on Wednesday, led by NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

The date change was necessitated by the Super Eagles' opening qualifying match for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar's Barea, scheduled for September 25, 2026. The NFF Executive Committee recognized that many candidates for the election would be unable to attend the Congress the following morning due to their participation in the match.

Consequently, a motion was proposed and seconded during the assembly to officially move the Elective Congress to the new date.
