NFF to Launch CAF A and B License Courses for Coaches

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), under the leadership of President Ibrahim Gusau, is set to conduct CAF A and B license courses for coaches, with a particular focus on women coaches in the upcoming year. This announcement was made on Monday following a visit from Philip Shaibu, the Director General of the National Institute for Sports, who sought collaboration on a two-year plan to bridge the significant gap of two million coaches in Nigerian sports.

The NFF has previously taken steps to improve coaching standards, including organizing four months of CAF B license courses last year, which trained 25 coaches. Additionally, the NFF conducted a CAF C license program exclusively for women, marking a significant milestone as it attracted 30 female coaches, including several former Nigerian international players.

The courses were held from July to September 2024, and the 30 coaches are expected to return for an upgrade next year, as confirmed by Gusau.
