Gusau Celebrates Infantino's 10 Years at FIFA Leadership

Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), sent a goodwill message celebrating Gianni Infantino's 10 years as FIFA President.

Gusau commended Infantino's visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to global football growth. Infantino, first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2019, has overseen significant reforms, including the introduction of a 48-team format for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Gusau acknowledged FIFA's increased investment in football development, which has risen to USD 5 billion across 211 member associations since 2016. He also highlighted the substantial growth in women's football, with FIFA distributing USD 152 million in prize money for the 2023 Women's World Cup, a tenfold increase from 2015.

Gusau noted that FIFA's support has been crucial for developing football infrastructure and promoting training for teams and players, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
