CAF Celebrates Gianni Infantino's 10 Years at FIFA

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially recognized Gianni Infantino's ten years at the helm of FIFA, marking his leadership with a statement published on their website. CAF President Patrice Motsepe commended Infantino for fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between FIFA and CAF over the past decade.

Infantino first took office in February 2016 after the departure of his predecessor, Sepp Blatter, during a time when FIFA's credibility was severely damaged due to corruption scandals. Infantino was elected with 115 votes in the second round, defeating Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al Khalifa and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein.

He was re-elected unopposed in June 2019 for a second four-year term. Under his leadership, FIFA has expanded its competitions and increased investments in development programs across Africa, enhancing funding and participation opportunities in the region.
