NGF Commends Tinubu for New Army Divisions Creation

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s decision to create four new Army divisions across Nigeria, which is described as the largest single expansion of the Nigerian Army in modern history. In a statement from NGF’s Chairman and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Forum emphasized that this bold initiative reflects the president’s renewed commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property.

The statement also welcomed the president's approval for the Army to recruit 28,000 new personnel and acquire additional critical military assets. The NGF is confident that these measures will enhance the government's counterterrorism and anti-banditry efforts.

Furthermore, the Forum reiterated its commitment to supporting the president on national security and urged citizens to assist government and security forces by providing timely information to enhance security across the nation.
