ADC Niger State Suspends Planned Congress Indefinitely

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State has announced the immediate suspension of its planned congress across all 25 local government areas. This decision was communicated by the party's chairman, Musa Hassan, in a statement sent to Punch Online on Wednesday.

The suspension will remain in effect until further notice, with Hassan citing the need to uphold the rule of law and due process in accordance with judicial authority. He warned that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not recognize any congresses held by unauthorized committees and urged the public to disregard announcements made by unauthorized individuals claiming to represent the party.

Hassan reaffirmed that the current ADC executive committee in Niger State remains constitutionally valid and duly recognized by INEC. He called for calm among party members and stakeholders during this period and indicated that a new date for the congress will be communicated following the conclusion of ongoing national consultations.
