Niger Police Investigate Murder of Deputy Gov's Aide

The Niger State police are actively pursuing the killers of Jafar Abdullahi Dabaru, an aide to the deputy governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba. Dabaru was stabbed to death in his residence in Minna around 2 AM on a Thursday.

The assailants, described as masked hoodlums, entered his home while he was with his newlywed wife and teenage daughter. A family source reported that the intruder, wearing a jalabiya and a face mask, attacked Dabaru, inflicting serious stab wounds to his chest and face.

Following the attack, he was found in a pool of blood and was immediately taken to Minna General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The deputy governor expressed condolences to the family and described the incident as a tragic loss.

The Niger State Police Command's spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the murder and stated that investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects.
